"Jadi, adakah Datuk Ismail Khamus sesat, adakah Datuk Harun Din sesat, adakah Datuk Nik Aziz sesat termasuk Allahyarham Datuk Ishak Baharom sesat..," ceritanya.

(from left) TI-M president Datuk Paul Low, secretary general Ngooi Chiu Ing and deputy president Datuk Mohamad Ali Hasan explaining how people see Malaysia as growing more corrupt over the years.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 - Malaysia is now seen to be more corrupt than ever, anti-graft watchdog Transparency International (TI) said in its global Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2009 launched today.
Malaysia now ranks 56 out of 180 countries in the world with a corruption index score of 4.5 out of 10, with 10 being the least corrupt, said the world corruption watchdog. Last year, it placed 47 with a CPI score of 5.1.
The annual TI CPI measures how corrupt a country is in the public sector based on data sourced from 13 different polls and surveys from 10 independent institutions over a period of two years. The three least corrupt countries in the world are, in order, New Zealand, Denmark and Singapore.
In an immediate reaction, DAP Parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang called Malaysia’s ranking the worst in 15 years and said it was a major blow to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s administration.
“This is a national shame and major blow for Najib’s premiership,” the Ipoh Timur MP said in a statement.
He said that he had expected poor results for Malaysia both in CPI ranking and score, with the country slipping further in ranking from 47 to perhaps 50 and score a lowest CPI of 4.8.
“But my worst fears had been exceeded when the Berlin-based TI just announced that Malaysia had plunged nine places from last year’s 47th CPI ranking to 56th position while Malaysia CPI index score plunged to the lowest in 15 years to 4.5,” he added.
Malaysia’s previous worst scores below 5 were 4.8 in 2000 and 4.9 in 2002.
Lim said the mysterious death of DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock on July 16 at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Selangor head office was among the major factors for Malaysia’s worst-ever TI CPI ranking and score.
“Will there be any response from Najib to the shocking TI CPI 2009 ranking and score?” he asked.
Malaysia's all-time low puts it on par with Namibia, Samoa, Slovakia and Latvia.
“A fall of 0.6 from 5.1 in 2008 to 4.5 in 2009 is alarming not only to the people of Malaysia but also the government of the day,” said Datuk Paul Low, the country president of the local branch of TI.
He lay a large portion of blame squarely on the federal government’s lap, singling out its lack of political will in enforcing tight anti-graft measures.
He said intense scrutiny surrounding public scandals exposing money siphoned off public funds, from the long drawn-out multi-billion Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project to the more recent double-tracking railway project, which went overboard by a whopping RM1.3 billion were clear examples that affected the increasing poor perception.
He said the impression the public gets is of double standards and selective prosecution, adding that the newly empowered Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is only seen to be catching “small fish” and focusing on Barisan Nasional’s (BN) rival political parties.
“The Auditor General’s annual report highlights extraordinary public procurement abuses, but no action appears to have been taken,” he stressed.
Low noted the plunge was serious not only when compared to the country’s perceived past performances but, more importantly, in relation to other countries worldwide and especially those within the Asean region.
At first place is Singapore with far and away the best score, topping 9.0. Even tiny Brunei which was included in the CPI for the first time this year, outstripped Malaysia at 5.5.
Drawing special attention to neighbouring Indonesia, Low marked that though it ranks 111 and scored 2.8 on the CPI, the country’s corruption level is seen to be improving steadily under the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Indonesia, which once scored less than 2.0, rose to 2.6 last year and this year, claimed 0.2 points in the CPI.
Low noted that the latest survey by local independent pollster Merdeka Centre showed that 74 per cent of citizens here were not satisfied with the way the government was dealing with fighting graft, while a separate survey carried out in Indonesia showed 79 per cent of its population satisfied with its government’s tactics to combat corruption.
In his personal mini survey, Low noted that eight out of 10 Malaysians he spoke to were of the view that there was “no alternative but to pay your way through” to get service from public institutions.
Corruption, as defined by TI, means “any abuse of power for personal gain”, Low said.

Oops, they weren't logs after all: The moment a crocodile was killed after taking a foolish shortcut across a herd of hippos

But, as our incredible pictures show, even crocodiles are no match for a herd of angry hippos.
This young reptilian predator paid the price for swimming too close to a mother and her calves while they bathed.
As 50 hippos gathered into a defensive circle around them, the crocodile panicked and raced over their backs in a bid to escape.
Bold move: The crocodile races across the backs of the hippos in a bid to escape after trying to snare a mother and her calves
Making a splash: The crocodile writhes and wriggles but cannot escape the clutches of his angry opponents
It was the last mistake he ever made. The beast's defences were no match for the maze of angry mammals, who proved their bite is every bit as lethal as his.
The spectacularly rare battle of the beasts was captured by Czech wildlife photographer Vaclav Silha.
He had set up his camera on the banks of the River Nile in the Serengeti national park, Tanzania, when the unbelievable scene unfolded before him.
But the 45-year-old got more than he bargained for when a colossal fight broke out between the group and a sneaky crocodile he had spotted earlier.
‘Mutual respect between these animals means fights occur very rarely,’ he said.
‘One of the only reasons you might see a conflict is if the hippos have young and they think the little ones are under threat. That’s exactly what happened here.
In the jaws of death: The crocodile is defeated by a maze of angry hippos after trying to kill one of their young
Make it snappy: The raging hippos take revenge by biting back while feeding at the River Nile in Tanzania
‘The incautious croc got too close to a female who had calves and the whole group gathered into a defensive circle around them. It was a strong message for the crook to clear off.
‘I have absolutely no idea why but the crocodile suddenly raced across the backs of the hippos. I think it might have panicked and thought it was a possible escape route. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
‘It was the worst choice the reptile could ever have made and it was definitely its last.
‘The island of hippos suddenly erupted with teeth and all I could see was the crocodile being repeatedly crushed in their huge mouths.’
Described as one of the most aggressive creatures in the animal kingdom, an adult hippo can apply several tons of pressure in a single bite.
‘Even the toughest crocodile could not have withstood being repeatedly bitten like that,’ said Mr Silha, from Prague.
‘There was no way for him to escape. I few seconds later his lifeless body slipped below the water and I didn’t see him again.’
One of these pictures was originally published in the November issue of BBC Wildlife Magazine.

They then chopped up his corpse to eat, local investigators said in a statement.
'After carrying out the crime, the corpse was divided up: part was eaten and part was also sold to a kiosk selling kebabs and pies,' the Prosecutor-General's main investigative unit for the Perm region said.
The grim discovery of the body was made on Friday in a forested area of the city.
Investigators have not revealed if the body parts were sold to customers of the kebab kiosk.

Record levels of obesity mean the UK has one of the highest levels of preventable cancers
Almost 80,000 patients diagnosed with cancer each year could have avoided the disease by adopting a healthier lifestyle, figures show.
They reveal that 39 per cent of cases of the 12 major cancers are preventable through better diet, drinking and exercise habits.
Record levels of drinking - which have risen more sharply in the UK than in any other developed country - and obesity mean the UK has one of the highest levels of preventable cancers.
But less than half of people realise that a lack of exercise can cause the disease, and a third are unaware of the dangers of diet or body fat.
The figures from the World Cancer Research Fund show that 78,748 of the 207,000 cancer cases diagnosed annually could be prevented. This includes 19,000 cases of breast cancer and 16,100 of bowel cancer.
But it does not take into account cancer that would be prevented by not smoking - tobacco is to blame in a third of cases.
Bowel cancer can be cut by eating less red and processed meat, while drinking less alcohol would reduce the chances of breast cancer.
Eating more fresh fruit and veg and keeping a healthy weight reduces cancers of the stomach and pancreas.
Professor Martin Wiseman, medical and scientific adviser for WCRF, said: 'These estimates set out in stark terms just how high the stakes are and show what could be achieved through making relatively simple lifestyle changes.
'Many people still think of cancer as a question of fate but this emphasises that people can significantly reduce their risk by eating healthily, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight.
'When you consider that these estimates do not include the cancers that would be prevented through not smoking, it is clear that cancer is actually a largely preventable disease.'
However, he added that the estimate of 80,000 avoidable cases relies on these healthier habits being followed for much of an adult life, rather than people immediately switching lifestyles.
'Having a healthy lifestyle is by no means a guarantee against cancer,' Professor Wiseman said.
'But if everyone followed our recommendations, it would mean that tens of thousands of cases in the UK would be prevented every year.
'More needs to be done to get the message across because it is only when people are aware of what the science is saying that they are in a position to make their own informed lifestyle choices.'
The figures are based on estimates from 23 scientists contributing to the charity's reports.
Professor Wiseman said they were the 'best estimates' possible given the degrees to which poor diet, drinking, lack of exercise and obesity contributed to cases of cancer.
The WCRF recommends ten ways in which people can reduce their risk of cancer.
But the researchers added that not smoking is the single most important factor for preventing cancer.

Teenage rape victim: Catherine Scott was disgusted when her abuser was let off with a caution
More than 100 rapists have been let off with a police caution, it was revealed yesterday. The 111 cases included 66 incidents of child rape.
The extent to which police forces have handed cautions to rapists, whose crime carries a maximum sentence of life in jail, was made public as Justice Secretary Jack Straw announced a full-scale review of the system of punishing crime with cautions and on-the-spot fines.
Mr Straw acted after a weekend when senior police chiefs and the Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer QC called for curbs on the use of out-of-court punishments.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson also condemned the 'uncontrollable increase in cautions' and said that on-the-spot fines, now often used to punish offences such as shoplifting, 'in the public's minds equate to a parking ticket.'
The system of fixed-penalty fines and cautions has been introduced over the past six years as a way to deal with minor crime cheaply and effectively.
But the disclosure that cautions have been used repeatedly to deal with rapists is the clearest demonstration that the system is now being used to keep the most serious crimes out of the courts.
The figures released to MPs by the Home Office show numbers of cautions handed to rapists after the 2003 Sexual Offences Act became law in May 2004.
In a further 66 cases individuals who admitted raping a child under 13 were freed with a caution.
The figures from the Home Office gave no indication of why police chose to use cautions to punish a crime which, in the case of adult rape, typically attracts a prison sentence of five years.
Nor do they say how many rapists have been cautioned rather than tried since 2007.
A high proportion of the 66 child rapes may have involved very young offenders, and the offenders in many of the cases of adult rapes may have been intimate partners of the victims.
However no caution can be given in any case except where the suspect admits guilt. Therefore in all 111 cases prosecutors denied the courts an opportunity to examine the evidence and decide on sentencing.
Tory home affairs spokesman James Brokenshire said: 'It is deeply disturbing to think that the rape of a young child could be dealt with by little more than a telling off. The law should protect the vulnerable, yet Labour's caution culture is increasingly letting them down.'
Decisions to allow crimes as serious as rape to be dealt with by cautions are taken by the Crown Prosecution Service rather than police officers, the Ministry of Justice said yesterday.
Nevertheless the punishment faced by a rapist who is cautioned does not amount to anything more than two years on the sex offenders' register.
Figures also show cautions proliferating for lesser offences.
Last year, according to the BBC's Panorama programme, 39,000 people were cautioned for assault causing actual bodily harm.
There were 739 cautions for the much more serious offence of grievous bodily harm.
More than half a million offenders have been given repeat cautions since 2000 and in eight years between 2000 and 2008 some 2.2million cautions were handed out in all for crimes, including burglary and assault.
Another half million penalty notices for disorder, handed out of drunkenness, shoplifting and similar more minor crimes, were handed out between 2005 and 2007. In half of the cases, the criminal did not pay up.
There are also concerns that the penalty notices are now being used for burglary and robbery.
Mr Straw said yesterday that he and Home Secretary Alan Johnson are concerned at the use of out- of- court punishments. He added that a review would be run by the Office of Criminal Justice Reform.
He denied the Government had encouraged the use of cautions to reduce the prison population.

A friend of former model Sophie Anderton was dumped on the pavement ‘like a rag doll’ after being raped and beaten by a doorman at a top celebrity nightclub.
Bulgarian body-builder and part-time model Vasil Makaveev, 28, is accused of ‘luring’ the drunken victim into the toilets after closing before sexually assaulting her.
Staggering back to the bar, staff at The Collection were alerted by her hysterical screams, but instead of calling for aid, they dragged her to the exit where she was ‘dumped unceremoniously on the street’.
The Collection: The Kensington club where it is alleged bouncer Vasil Makaveev raped a girl
The venue in South Kensington, London, is popular hangout for Chelsea footballers and regularly welcomes ‘A’-list celebrities, including Princes William and Harry, Angelina Jolie, Jay Z , Hugh Grant and Elton John.
A medical examination the following day found more than 20 bruises and abrasions on the victim’s body. Traces of Makaveev’s bodily fluid were also found on her underwear.
The petite beauty had spent the day in early June watching polo with friends at West London’s exclusive Hurlingham Club before heading for drinks with Miss Anderton at The Collection.
She continued to drink white wine and champagne into the early hours and was the last person remaining at the club after saying goodbye to her friends.
It was after the doors closed that Makaveev ‘preyed’ on the young woman said Lisa Wilding, prosecuting.
‘We say this was a deliberate and calculated attack by a man who had responsibility for the welfare of everyone at the club, never mind a young, drunk, single girl,’ she said.
‘He preyed on her vulnerability by virtue of her drunkenness seconds after her male companion had left and lured her into the privacy of the toilets.’
She added: ‘The club was closed, it was empty. She was the only person left. We say he targeted her and lured her into the toilet and had his way with her.’
Miss Wilding said the victim believed she was going to the toilets, which are not covered by CCTV, to snort cocaine with the bouncer.
‘She definitely did not go to the toilets to engage in any sexual activity whatsoever with a man she had only just met and did not know,’ she said.
‘She told him ‘no’, she struggled and she resisted and she found the whole episode disgusting. As soon as she could make good her escape, she ran from the toilets and into the bar.
‘The CCTV shows she was hysterical, extremely upset and angry.’
But Makaveev followed her back to the bar and restrained her after she became increasingly frantic, Kingston Crown Court heard yesterday.
The restaurant manager and other staff were alerted by her cries, but instead of assisting her, they helped the doorman drag her out on to the street.
‘She is seen being picked up like a shop mannequin and carried out by this defendant helped by this colleagues, before she’s dumped unceremoniously on the street like a ragdoll,’ said Miss Wilding.
The doors were then shut, leaving the hysterical woman sobbing on the pavement.
But 10 minutes later club staff relented and came to her aid, and an ambulance was flagged down.
She remained highly agitated and screamed ‘nonce, pervert’ every time Makaveev approached her.
The police were called at 1.44am and the victim reported the attack to a female officer before she was taken to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Forensic officers who went to the club, where Chelsea star Ashley Cole was arrested earlier this year, found traces of Makaveev’s semen in the cubicle where the alleged attack took place.
Makaveev, of Northolt, Middlesex, denies one charge of rape.
The doorman, who has worked at the exclusive club for the past six years, does not deny a sexual act took place but claims it was consensual.
The case continues.
