Samsung unveils supersized 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet so big it has a carrying handle built in

It dwarf's Apple's iPad Pro, boasting a massive 18.5inch screen.
Samsung's much anticipated Galaxy View tablet has been officially revealed.
Samsung tried to steal Apple's thunder by teasing an extra large tablet at its Gear S2 launch event at IFA, Berlin - but now it has finally come clean about the gadget.

The giant Galaxy View will weight 2.65kg, and has a built in carrying handsle which can also be uswede as a stand. It is far bigger than Apple's iPad Pro, which has a 12.9inch screen.
They reveal that the Galaxy View will be powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7 processor, running at 1.6GHz. The graphics processing will be handled by an ARM Mali-T720 chip, and there is 2GB of RAM on board, according to specs from GFXBenchmark.
There were no details other than an image of a plain black tablet with a foldable stand, and the name - Galaxy View, with the South Korean firm promising a 'closer look in October'.
The oversize tablet was the only surprise at Samsung's event, which launched the much-leaked Gear S2 smartwatch.
It has previously been reported Samsung was working on the product under the codename Tahoe.
'According to the information that we’ve received, the SM-T670, which is codenamed ‘Tahoe’, is an Android 5.1 Lollipop-based tablet with an 18.4-inch display,' said Sammobile.
'It will feature a TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an octa-core 64-bit 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a microSD card slot (supporting up to 128GB cards), and a 5,700 mAh battery.
Rumours about a larger iPad have been circulating since last year and Apple has finally revealed it's larger device.
Called the iPad Pro, the tablet has a 12.9-inch display with 5.6 million pixels - this is more pixels than a 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

Its width is the same height as the iPad Air, and is marginally thicker than the iPad Air 2 at 6.9mm, compared to 6.1mm.
It features the new A9X chip which Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller said is 1.8 time faster than the A8X in the iPad Air 2.

He added that the iPad Pro is faster than 80 per cent of the PCs that shipped in the past six months, and graphics are faster than 90 per cent of those PCs.
Apple also announced the Apple Pencil - a stylus to use the iPad.
It has four speakers, and is 6.9mm thin, and has a case with keyboard built in, similar to Microsoft's Surface tablet.
It also comes with an optional stylus called Apple Pencil.
'To enhance what's possible and allow a new level of precision, we've designed Apple Pencil,' said Sir Jonathan Ive.
Microsoft showed off its Office software on the device, and Adobe showed off its image software.
It will run a customised version of Samsung's Tizen operating system, not Android Wear which is used for other wearable devices.
But Samsung confirmed it will work with many different Android devices, not just Samsung products.
One version of the watch comes with a built-in sim so that it can make calls without being connected to a nearby smartphone.
Taking to the elaborate circular face, built to resemble a watch face, Samsung's Pravav Mistry demonstrated how the bezel turns to give users access to features easily.
'Now you can physically rotate the bezel.
The new UX reminds you of turning a dial on a radio with an analogue feeling,' he said.
The bezel can be used to find an app quickly without blocking the screen.
'With the Gear S 2, the circular bezel lets me interact outside the screen, to read long emails and navigate within apps such as browsing through reviews of restaurants in Yelp.'
'Instead of pinching and zooming on a tiny map, i can use the bexel to zoom in and out. It's super intuitive.'
The bezel can also be turned to swap watch faces and hands and the hands and strap can be customised too.

Alenna Cotton demonstrated how Gear S 2 can be used for fitness.
She showed how, like the Apple Watch, health data is shown as a circular timeline, where green means healthy and grey means 'let's get moving'.
It can record a user's coffee and water intake and there's an 'activity sparkle setting' where twinkling increases when a user is active.
Called the Gear S2, it has a round face, and will come in several versions - including one with its own SIM card to make calls without the need for a phone.
A higher end version of the watch will come with a stainless steel bezel and leather strap option.
'When you reach a healthy pace, you'll be rewarded with a shimmering green screen,' she said.
'The Gear S2 is designed for workout conditions.
It's water resistant so you don't have to worry about it getting sweaty.'
The device also has a power saving mode so that if someone forgets to charge it, it cans trip back features to keep running for longer.
The watch will go on sale at the end of the month but not prices have been revealed.
The Gear S2 will be Samsung's seventh smartwatch.
The first, the Galaxy Gear, was launched in 2013 and received mixed reviews.
One of Samsung's designers first revealed the firm's new smartwatch on Instagram.
The screenshots hint that Nike will supply some of the fitness features through its run app.

Until now, the firm has only revealed glimpses of part of the watch.
Rumours have been circulating that Samsung will launch a new round-faced smartwatch code named Orbis.
It was originally thought to be called Gear A and boast on-board GPS, giving it an edge over the Apple Watch.
This would allow the device to track a wearer's location without the need for a phone and load maps quickly.
The watch is expected to launch at the IFA trade show in Berlin next month.
The device will have a Samsung Exynos dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 4GB of storage, 768MB of RAM and a 250mAH battery, SamMobile reported.
Leaked details of the Gear A's internal specifications also suggest the gadget will be packed with sensors, including a a barometer, heart rate sensor, Wi-Fi chip and GPS, which would reduce the time it takes for maps to load on the watch.

A previous leak suggested users will navigate the watch's interface by turning its bezel as well as a digital crown, similar to the one seen on the Apple Watch.
News of the gadgets's circular Super Amoled screen was leaked in April.
Images of the watch's circular face were unveiled as part of an announcement about Samsung's upcoming developer scheme.
In its press release, Samsung said: 'Members of global developer community can get early access to the Software Development Kit (SDK) of the company's next generation of the Gear device.'
While Motorola, Huawei and LG offer round-screen smartwatches, Samsung has previously only offered rectangular displays and one curved device – the Gear S.

The Gear A would be Samsung's 7th smartwatch. The first, the Galaxy Gear, was launched in 2013 and received mixed reviews.
There are currently no details about how much the device will cost.
