El Nino smashes Reds record
29th Dec 2009Fernando Torres' winning goal in Tuesday night's clash with Aston Villa saw him become the fastest Liverpool player ever to hit 50 league goals.
The Spanish marksman achieved the half century in just 72 appearances, a strike-rate that leaves him well clear of Sam Raybould and Albert Stubbins, both of whom reached the landmark after 80 matches.
