NASA has just released an amazing 30-minute video footage of the sun in Ultra-HD (4K) to show waves of ultraviolet light invisible to our eyes. The project, which was appropriately named ‘Thermonuclear art’, took around 300 hours to be produced – 10 hours were needed to created every one minute – and the video shows the final result, a beautiful work of scientific art.
According to NASA an image is taken every 12 seconds by the the Solar Dynamics Observatory, in 10 different wavelengths of invisible ultraviolet light, each of which helps highlight a different temperature of solar material.
